Years at Portsmouth Guildhall
For a six year period
between 1959 and 1965 the Guildhall was the place to go for live music. Below I
run through the artistes that appeared on a Saturday night, with thanks to the
Pompey Pop web pages These top line acts we were able to see at reasonable
prices. I have not included the classical and other concerts

Lonnie Donegan and the number one album was South Pacific Soundtrack. The top rated TV show
was Armchair Theatre (ABC) and the box office smash was Psycho. A pound of today's
